Below is Providence, Rhode Island as seen from Conimicut Point in Warwick RI looking north across the Narragansett Bay.
This building is on Edisto Island, SC. I have no idea why, but this building at the beginning of what would be a spectacular sunset, just caught my eye. I still sit and just stare at it, not really understanding why it grabs my eye so much. I dont know if its the shadows on the corrugated tin or the contrast of the clock face in the midst of it all. I still can't answer why I like it so much.
The Northern Lights briefly shot well south of their normal Artic location in October 2011 following a large solar flare. This was taken in Scituate, RI the night after the northern lights were seen as far south as Alabama. I didn't get to see the brilliant displays dancing overhead as they were still pretty north of my location, but I did get to see ribbons of light dance off the horizon and half way up the sky then disappear. My camera didn't capture the true beauty of it. I lucked out and did catch a shooting star over Orion back light by the dancing aurora.
